2019 Art Start

In 2019, 10% of Danikah Photography's income will be donated to the non-profit organization Art Start.

Art Start is dedicated to transforming the lives of at-risk youth by using the power of art. Art Start has three programs: Homeless Youth Outreach, Youth Offender Outreach, and Emerging Artists.

Homeless Youth Outreach is a workshop where people from ages 5-21 are taught about music, dance, and illustration in order to give them an outlet for their creative energy.

The Youth Offender Outreach Program is a partnership with New York City's alternative sentencing programs. The children involved have open court cases. Art Start provides these kids with a chance to re-direct their energy towards positive goals by teaching them about visual and performing arts.

Art Start also reaches out to emerging artists between the ages of 13-21 who have exhibited exceptional artistic talent but have not had the means to turn their talent into future opportunities. Art Start provides these young adults with a rigorous schedule of coursework, project creation, a transportation stipend, and career counseling in the arts industries.
